To begin with, the boy was born in Bellevue, Washington, but his father worked in the naval sector, and for that reason the family moved from place to place before settling down in the north of California. Peter studied at Redwood High School, California and at Principia College in Illinois. He is a graduate in musical composition from the University of California, but has subsequently chosen to pursue an actor’s career.

Concerning his professional career, his real debut came in 1979, participating in episodes of television series such as “The Bradford Family”, “Time Out” and “Dallas”, and subsequently obtained a secondary role in the television adaptation of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” (1982 – 1983). In the movies, he really came to notice starring in “Children of the Corn” (1984) based on the novel by Stephen King. From 1987 to 1991, he played the role of Gary Shepherd in the television series “Thirtysomething”, in which series he also directed some episodes – during the period that he worked in the series, Peter was added to the classification of “The 50 Most Beautiful People in the World” produced by the magazine People, all of which no doubt helped add to his net worth.

In 1997, he was among the protagonists of the disaster television film “Into Thin Air: Death on Everest” based on the book written by Jon Krakauer. In the 1990s, he performed in films such as “Sideout” (1990) and “The Cure” (1995) among others, and was the protagonist and producer of the short-lived television series “Brimstone” (1998 – 1999).

The 2000s he mainly devoted to television direction and production; Horton is known to have directed three episodes of the cult series “The Shield” (2003 – 2004), and then worked as a director and executive producer for the first three seasons of “Gray’s Anatomy” (2005 – 2007). Recently, he has worked as a director of episodes of the television series “Deception” (2013), “Ironside” (2013) and “American Odyssey” (2015).

To conclude, all the above mentioned engagements in acting, producing and directing have added significant sums to the net worth of Peter Horton, as well as turning him into a famous celebrity.

Finally, in the personal life of Peter Horton, he has married three times, briefly to Linda Hamilton (1979-80), then from 1981 to 1988 to the actress Michelle Pfeiffer. Since 1995 he has been married to Nicole Deputron, with whom he has two daughters: Lily (1999) and Ruby (2002).
